TERMS OF REFERENCE

In fulfilling its mandate, the Australian Catholic Council for Pastoral Research:

  • Oversees the Centre’s aims of –
    • Planning and undertaking pastoral research to support the mission of the Church;
    • Working with Church leaders and the wider Catholic community to bring research findings effectively into pastoral practice;
    • Ensuring engagement of the research findings within the life of the Church through effective communication strategies;
  • Steers the development of the 5-year horizon plan and the related annual plan for the National Centre for Pastoral Research and monitors their implementation;
  • Guides the Centre in the development of processes to ensure its work is collaborative, relevant, innovative and well-communicated to its stakeholders;
  • Promotes partnerships with relevant agencies and networks to advance the work of the Centre;
  • Considers other matters referred to the Council by the Permanent Committee or other Australian Catholic Bishops Conference agencies.
